ImageImageThe Performing Arts Department provides all pupils with an extensive range of arts experiences and opportunities, which include work in Music, Drama, Drawing and Painting, Graphics, Sculpture, Ceramics and Textiles. The department also works with the PE department to promote contemporary dance.

Much of the pupils’ early work will be devoted to developing skills in the individual areas of study. Pupils become involved in combined arts work where each pupil shares his or her experiences and skills with others, often working closely together using all of the arts, and this forms part of a Key Stage 3 combined arts course.

In Key Stage 4 pupils can follow a specific area of the arts where talents and expertise can be developed to a higher level during the GCSE examination courses. For pupils who are particularly keen on the arts there is an opportunity to select a second creative studies subject.
