All pupils study French in Key Stage 3, with the more able linguists also being given the opportunity to learn German. At the end of Year 9 pupils can choose to study French or German or both languages to GCSE level.

The school is also interested in widening the language experience of pupils and through a link with Oswestry School we are able to offer Latin classes to GCSE level. The Language department organises annual trips to France and Germany. These have proved to be enjoyable and valuable, enabling students to use the language they have learnt in class.
