Clubs and Activities
We actively encourage pupils to take part in the extensive extra curriculum clubs and activities. These take place either during the lunch break or after school. We consider Out of Hours learning as a valuable tool to enhance the learning and development of all students at The Marches School and Technology College.
Athletics, Art Club, Badminton, Brass Group, Internet Breakfast Club, Basketball, School Band, GNVQ activities, Cricket, Choir, Computer Club, Dance, Year 7 Choir, Design Technology Club, Fitness Club, Drama Club, Textiles, Gymnastics, DJ Club, Comenius Group, Boys’ Hockey, Drum Club, KS4 Science Group, Girls’ Hockey, Keyboard Club, Lower School Science, Netball, Music Theory Class, GCSE Maths, Rounders, Orchestra, GCSE Latin, Rugby, Welsh Club, History, Boys’ Soccer, Breakfast Club, Spanish, Girls’ Soccer, Link Africa, Tennis, Reading club.
Pupils can join an after school activities and homework club, using both the library and the I.C.T. facilities. Refreshment is also provided. The library and the ICT suites are also open before and after school, at breaks and at lunchtimes.
The school is a designated Yamaha Music School and keyboard lessons take place in classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. North West Shropshire Schools Orchestra meets for practice each week at the school.
The school is also an active Duke of Edinburgh Award Centre. Several pupils have gained a bronze medal and others are working towards bronze and silver accreditation. Currently, over 60 pupils are actively involved.
