Department Welcome: All years learn specific aspects of music, performing music in the style where appropriate and using mostly keyboards for composing using the specific features learned about. Computers are used for composing and CD-ROM’s.

Years 10 and 11 Curriculum Summary:
The school enters pupils for Edexcel GCSE. The course covers composing and performing. The written exam assesses written response to music which candidates hear.
Extra Curricular Subject Activities: The Music Department offers a Year 7, Years 8 – 11 Choir, Boys Choir, Concert Band, Keyboard Club and North West Shropshire Schools String Orchestra.
The school runs the area Yamaha Music School, with keyboard lessons on Wednesday & Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings.
