We are working on a year 7 curriculum aimed to develop the attributes and skills necessary for a successful life in the 21st Century.
Embracing the new National Curriculum framework and exploring programmes
such as Futurelab's Enquiring Minds, students will experience a range
of learning activities designed to develop their ability to work
independently and think creatively.
The whole learning community, colleagues and students have been active in
constructing a vision for our learning future:
We believe Successful creative lifelong learners participate in a
journey of self discovery. They know how to learn, acquire skills and
feel safe to take risks with confidence and courage.
The Year 7 Growing Minds curriculum will be a coherent curriculum which:
• Makes Sense – learners will see the connection between
different themes, skills, cross curricular dimensions, assessment and
qualifications
• Is Relevant – The whole planned learning experience is
meaningful and inspirational to learners, preparing them for lifelong
learning in an uncertain and rapidly changing world
• Fosters Positive learning relationships – between teachers and
learners, their peers and the wider community.
And we aspire to make the learning challenging, inspirational, Engaging,
to bring learning to life, and ensure it is collaborative, active and
creative.
Here our Marches Learning Mission Satement and Growing Minds Curriculum
Statement is presented using Wordle. This is an online tool for
generating word clouds from text. The clouds give greater prominence to
words that appear more frequently in the text.
