Students and staff at The Marches School and Technology College are
celebrating their best ever GCSE
results. 78% of students have achieved 5 GCSE grades A*- C with 69% of
students achieving 5 GCSE grades A*- C including Maths and English.
The Marches School and Technology College proudly showcased their GCSE Art and Design show on Friday, 2nd July 2010. The show celebrates the hard work and dedication of the pupils. Each art student has at least one piece of work on display.

Twelve teachers from schools in Italy, Germany and Turkey came to The Marches with sixteen of their students to experience the British education system and to work with some of our students in the Lifelong Learning project
Modern Foreign Languages Department visited Normandy, France with 44
Year 7 pupils and 5 members of staff.
Pupils visited the medieval town of Mont Saint Michel and toured the
abbey where the Harry Potter film "The
Philosopher's Stone" was filmed.

Investor in Careers (IiC) is the most prestigious national quality award available that recognizes the excellence of Careers Education and Guidance provision in schools and colleges
At our school we take internet safety seriously, this is reflected in our ICT policy (available via the 'resources' menu and 'school policies'). We have created a simple user guide for home use. We advise all parents to closely monitor their child's activities when using internet enabled computers and telephones.
The Comenius International project linking The Marches School and
Technology College and schools across Europe has involved students in
the production of a range of products in different languages.
Years 7, 8 and 9 have taken part in a competition this term to design a new logo to represent the many international activities that take place at The Marches School.
Sue Lockett, the Catering Manager, and her team of kitchen staff at The Marches School and Technology College has been awarded a certificate for ‘Outstanding Contribution to Shire Services’. The presentation was made during a celebratory evening at Shirehall by Carole Fischer, Area Manager for Secondary Schools.
PR Specialist Hosts Workshops at The Marches School & Technology College
Oswestry-based PR and corporate communications specialist, Jools Payne, from The Jools Payne Partnership, was invited into The Marches School & Technology College recently to run a series of communications workshops with Year 10 and 11 IT Diploma students.
A group of Year 10 students have signed up to take part in the Young Enterprise Company Programme. This will involve setting up and running a real company to market and sell a product or service. During the next 8 months they will have to come up with a business idea, write a business plan and raise capital by selling shares in the company.
