Disney Netball Trip

Over the Easter holiday, 40 students from The Marches School went to Disneyland in Paris to take part in an England Netball tournament.

Students were lucky enough to receive a training session delivered by the England Netball organisation and listened to a talk by Severn Stars Vitality Netball Superleague player Josie Janz-Dawson.

At the tournament, two of The Marches School netball teams got through to the top finals. The final results were: Under 16 A: 6th place, Under 16 B: 5th place, Under 14 A: 6th place, Under 14 B 2nd place and Under 12 A: 8th place. The Under 12 team won ‘Most Determined Team throughout the tournament and the whole team were awarded the 2017 International Junior Netball Festival Umpires ‘Spirit of the Game’ Award.

On the second day The Marches School won a dance off and Mrs Bladen came second in the teachers dance off. During the afternoon, students had free time in Disneyland which was celebrating its 25th Anniversary.

Miss Sian Cooke, PE Teacher commented, “The level of netball played was fantastic and our students’ determination is to be credited.” She continued, “We are very proud of the girls and we are looking forward to our next Netball trip.”
