LRC

Learning Resource Centre

The Marches Learning Resource Centre was fully re-furbished in 2008 and officially opened by the author and screenwriter, Frank Cottrell Boyce. It has an excellent range of fiction and an extensive non-fiction stock.  There are ten laptops available for students to use for independent research during lesson.

There is now a dedicated Senior Library section for Sixth Form study with a selection of resources picked especially to complement the A Level courses taken by the Marches students.

The LRC is open Monday to Thursday from 8.00 until 3.55 and 8.00 until 3.00 on a Friday.  It is open at break and lunch-times and is manned by a trained member of staff.  Students can choose between quiet study, reading or playing a board game or Top Trumps. All Students are welcome to join the LRC Ambassadors on a Wednesday lunch time, where they play games, help organize events such as World Book Day and generally help keep the LRC organized.

Teachers regularily bring classes to study or exchange their reading books and there are special events such as author visits.
