Match Report: North Shropshire Football

North Shropshire League

The Year 9 team were back on the road and back to winning. After a trip to St Martins School on Tuesday to check the route and the pitch conditions we went again on Wednesday to play the fixture!

It proved to be a bountiful afternoon with goals galore. After a slow start the goals began to fly in. Charlie Carson opened the scoring, soon followed by Harvey Greig after a fantastic run. A David Skirton run and cross resulted in a tap in for Henry Walker before debutant Reuben Coslett Hughes opened his account for the school. Alfie Thomas Haigh was next followed by captain Grieg again before half time. We changed ends at 6-0.

Second half goals from Reuben, Henry, Joe Mctweed and Tom Wolstenholme left us well ahead and when a penalty was awarded in the last minute the boys generously gave Reuben the chance for his hat trick. The penalty was duly dispatched and we were winners at 11-0. Some great performances all round with Harry Lloyd his usual rock at the back with Joe and Martins Otvars protecting Zaz Bateman in goal and keeping a clean sheet. I was very happy for the team to have won again.
