Match Report: Year 9 County Cup Rugby

A Friday afternoon on the road took us to Charlton School for the next group game in the cup. The opposition scored first from their danger player – a fast and strong runner who caught us still asleep from the off.

Strong scrumming and a great run from Myles Findlay took us level and fly half Patrick Power took us ahead 7-5 with the conversion.

The boys put great pressure on the opposition through the rest  of the half but could not score and then were suckered at the end of the half to turn around 12-7 down. The second half was hard fought but with lots of stoppages and though the tackles were flying in from twins Ben and Sam Lloyd the talisman player for Charlton was the difference and we went down 33-7.

Special mention to the pack who won every scrum today – in our ball and theirs. Man of the match today was Sam Lloyd who tackles as if he is a giant- none shall pass when Sam is around!
