Primary Pupils to Attend Education Festival
On Thursday 29th June hundreds of local Year 5 pupils form 9 different Primary Schools will be attending The Marches School to take part in a number of activities and workshops held as part of the school’s annual Festival of Education.
The Festival of Education Primary Programme includes activities offered by The Education Group, Aardman Animation and Operating Theatre Live all of which are now fully booked. Pupils from Cockshutt, Holy Trinity, Kinnerley, Morda, The Meadows, Trefonen, Weston Rhyn, Whittington and Woodside Primary Schools will be attending.
Pupils will be taking part in Chinese dance classes, workshops based around clay building, diya painting, forensic science, gamelan orchestras and fossils as well as a KS2 Junior Medic workshop which is being run by Operating Theatre Live where over the course of the day pupils will dissect real anatomical specimens, developing a comprehensive understanding of how the human body works.
Pupils will also be receiving a surprise visit from Sophie, a baby Tyrannosaurus Rex!
Mrs Kelly Parsons, Event Organiser from The Marches School, commented, “We are delighted that so many schools have taken advantage of this unique learning opportunity during this summer’s Festival of Education. The day promises to be packed full of inspirational and engaging activities outside of the traditional classroom, which the children will remember for years to come.”
