Whittaker House

In Whittaker House our motto is to “be better than you ever thought you could be”. We rise to every challenge and meet it head on. Team work, playing our part and having fun are all really important to us.

We take our inspiration from Tom Whittaker MBE, he was the first disabled person to climb Mount Everest. Following a head on car crash at the aged of 31, Tom had his right foot amputated. On his third attempt he successfully reached the summit of Everest after coming within a few hundred feet on his previous expedition.

We were lucky enough to have Tom Whittaker visit the school in September. In his assembly to the House, students and staff were amazed by his resilience and determination. Tom spoke to the students about following their own path in life and staying on track so that they achieved their goals. We are very excited about working with Tom in the future and providing opportunities for Whittaker House students to take part in expeditions and fundraising projects.
