Implications of Covid-19 for The Marches School 2021 UCAS applicants

On Friday 20th March The Marches School closed to all students including Year 12 in line with government guidelines.

As of Monday 23rd March, students continued to follow their timetable via Microsoft Teams, receiving five 55 minute sessions of teaching per subject per week.  During this time, no live video teaching took place.  Staff were required to upload online work and resources for remote learning.  Staff supported students in the completion of these tasks via chat facilities and e mail.

On Monday 15th June, Year 12 students returned to some face to face teaching.  Students received one 2 hour face to face session per subject over a three week period.  Staff continued to support students with remote learning during this time.

Following feedback from parents about the mental wellbeing of students during lockdown, school policy was for families to judge if a student should access online learning.  The school did not enforce attendance to lessons.  Material was made available after the session via Teams for students who did not attend the lesson live.
