Information

Face Coverings | With effect from Monday 2nd November 2020

After half-term, we will be tweaking our face covering policy, a few too many students are not using their mask between lessons.

A stock of reusable face coverings will be available from the medical room at cost price to the school of £1.

We recommend that students are stocked with a spare mask in their bag as well as one in their pocket.

We are not able to loan a face covering due to the nature of its use.

When the SMART log was introduced six years ago, ties and top buttons were worn correctly within the hour, we anticipate that our change below will have the same impact for face coverings, allowing us to focus our energies on learning.

Students should arrive in school each morning wearing their face covering.

In morning lines, where a student without an exception sticker obtained from Ms Phillips, does not have a face covering, they will need to purchase one from the medical room or have one brought in for them, with students completing work away from the other students, until one is provided for them from home.

Where a student has a face covering, but is not wearing it when needed, they will have their SMART log signed, as with all other uniform issues.

Students need to wear a face covering in school other than:

  • in their classroom;
  • in their year group zone;
  • when eating in the restaurant.

Covid- 19 Reminder

All students should isolate at home and seek a test if they display any of the symptoms of Covid-19, and keep us up to date with the outcome of any tests.

All students need to bring a face covering to wear each day in school, and in the main, this is being followed really well.

Your continued support in keeping school open is much valued.

Please ensure you use the reporting form out of school hours to allow us to respond to any positive tests that could come during the weeks ahead – click here.

Face coverings will be a requirement in school as follows.

All students will be required to wear a face covering of their choice at the following times:

  • At the lines at the start of the day
  • At movement times between sessions
  • At movement times to and from social time bubbles
  • Through the school buildings at the end of the day
  • On all public transport

Please see the attached document (download here) for full details.

In addition – a reminder that all parents and carers must inform the school if a student receives a positive Covid test result as soon as possible.

If you are visiting the school, no visitors should enter reception without an appointment. Please wait outside the building if you arrive early for your appointment.

Thank you for your support at this time.

September 2020 information

Students will have a number of new systems and structures to learn and just as businesses reopening have needed to take time to train their staff.

To ensure all students are confident and comfortable in the new arrangements that we need to have in place for the full autumn term. The government have produced a guide to autumn reopening for parents here.
