Match Reports: Year 11 Presidents’ Trophy

Bishops Castle Community College 0-8 The Marches School

The Marches boys’ team made the long and scenic journey to Bishops Castle Community College and put on a real show. In difficult conditions the boys played some of their best Football of the year so far.

Toby opened the goal scoring with a fantastic shot into the left corner. Talismanic Tom doubled the lead before half-time. If Billy had been able to finish a couple of headed chances the game could have been over before the interval.

The boys flew out of the blocks and Toby capped a ‘man of the match’ display with his second goal from the penalty spot. Further goals from Tom, Max, Charlie and a late double from super-sub Drew Brennan who managed 2 goals completed a comfortable win. A mention also to the back four, who often remain unsung heroes – Bishops Castle were not a poor side and to limit them to virtually no chances is to the boys credit.

The business end of the season is to come with two semi-finals to look forward to.
