Sports Day and House Reveal

A look back to one of our favourite events on the school calendar – our recent Sports Day! Being also the finale of our House Competition anticipation was high and competition fierce, with four of the Houses only having 60 points between them.
The afternoon saw a very close contest, with banners created by students also being judged for additional House Competition points. In the end, Stephens House were crowned House Champions for 2020/21, having dominated throughout the year! Holly Cass, House Captain of Stephens received the House Cup from LORIC the Lemur our school mascot – a big congratulations to all in Stephens House!
Here is what Year 10 Sport Prefect, Leo Thomas had to say about Sports Day and the House reveal:
“2021 House Competition… The most hotly anticipated event of the year came to an end on Friday with the scores as follows. Let’s start with the banner competition, Mrs Pearson walked round judging each House’s banner, the results were 1st Whittaker. The year groups in their Houses also battled out the day to try to reach 1st place, here are the following results for the years: Year 7 – Whitaker, Year 9 – Bonington, Year 10 – Bonington and Staff – Whitaker.
We would like to thank all the Years and Staff for taking part in the events and cheering on their House. Isabelle McGuinness, the House Captain of Mallory proudly lifted the trophy for winning Sports Day 2021, however, Holly Cass House Captain for Stephens which was the 2020/21 House winners said ‘I am so proud of the effort that everyone put in to help us win the House Cup and become House Champions for 2021, the House came together this last year after such a challenging time, we look forward to defending our title for the upcoming year.’ “
