Textile Design Competition
On Tuesday 8th October, the Shrewsbury Drapers Company held their annual Young Textile Design Competition at St Mary’s Church, Shrewsbury.
The event featured a host of guest speakers including the Lord-Lieutenant of Shropshire, the High Sheriff of Shropshire, local mayors, adjudicators and Shrewsbury Drapers Company members. Marches student Charlotte Crow entered the competition, producing a beach bag in response to the theme ‘Flower Power’. The competition was tough with the creations being judged by a team of textile experts.
Despite this, Charlotte did fantastically well, coming away with a Silver Award! Marches School Governor, Mr Vince Hunt, commented: “I attended the Annual Textile Design Competition in Shrewsbury the other evening, and watched Charlotte Crow get her Silver Award. I had a chance to have a chat with her before and after the award. I have to say she has done the school and herself much credit.” Huge congratulations to Charlotte for all her hard work creating such an amazing creation.
