Wellbeing | Beam is coming to North Shropshire
We would like to share with you the following information sent to us by Shropshire Telford & Wrekin Beam:
Shropshire Telford & Wrekin Beam are excited to be piloting a North Shropshire Beam for 3 months in 2021.
This project will focus on 2 areas of North Shropshire – Oswestry initially, then Whitchurch.
As part of this project they will have community-based face to face sessions for young people under 25 who wish to access emotional wellbeing support.
They will be based in Holy Trinity Church, Oswestry on Tuesdays for 5 weeks, starting on January 12th 2021. The service will operate on a walk-in basis – opening at 12pm Beam will take bookings for appointments throughout that day. Final sessions will take place at 6pm.
More information is provided on the below leaflets, but it is important to note that there are distinct differences to the previous drop-in support sessions they held before Covid, particularly that support sessions will be booked for set times, and there will not be an option to stay and wait for a practitioner to become available.
Dates for the sessions in Oswestry are as follows:
Tuesday 12th January 2021
Tuesday 19th January 2021
Tuesday 25th January 2021
Tuesday 2nd February 2021
Tuesday 9th February 2021
Before sessions can be booked, young people and parents/carers will need to have registered with the service if they have not accessed Beam before. If individuals attend and are not registered, they will be asked to come back on another session once registration has been completed.
Registration should be done via their website: https://www.childrenssociety.org.uk//beamshropshire
Shropshire Telford & Wrekin Beam will be closed from 23rd December 2020, and phone-based support will begin again 5th January 2021.
