Young Enterprise First Trade Fair
Our 2020 Young Enterprise teams have been quietly crafting over the first half of the year. Two teams (Envirocraft and The Green Bottle Co.) from Year 10 have set up their companies, designed their products and worked hard to bring them to life – staying until 6:00pm every night in the run up to the show to get things just right!
Saturday 8th February saw the first trade fair for the students and after an early start, the students arrived at Pride Hill Shopping Centre at 8:00am, ready to set up their stalls and sell their wares. Both teams received lots of helpful feedback from the Young Enterprise judges, the professional business advisors and the mayor of Shrewsbury.
It was a long day of wheeling and dealing, but the hard work paid off and both teams left with a healthy sales revenue to reinvest in their businesses.
The next stop is the Telford Trade Fair on the 29th February, where the students will be judged on presentation of their stand and their sales techniques, before presenting their ideas to the judges on Wednesday 25th March at Wolverhampton University in a Dragon’s Den style pitch.
You can come along and meet the teams in the reception area at this week’s Sister Act performances.
Young Enterprise runs every year and is open to Year 10 and Year 12 students. For information on getting involved next year, see Mr. Davies – Head of Academic Progress for Year 8 and Subject Leader for Business.
