We love seeing our school community represented beyond the classroom π
We are delighted to see The Marches School recognised in a recent feature celebrating Oswestry Womenβs and Girls Cricket Team, which proudly includes an incredible 10 mother and daughter pairs.
Five of the daughters are part of our Marches family, including current pupils Avril Wilkinson (Year 8) and Emily Ellis (Year 12), alongside former pupils Erin Oakley, Isla Rogers and Lucy Jermain Jones. The photos also feature our current Year 10 pupils Martha Humphreys and Hollie Wiseman.

πΆ What an incredible day bringing our Trust together through music!
It was fantastic to welcome 150 singers from Marches Academy Trust schools to St Oswaldβs, Oswestry for an inspiring African Gospel Singing workshop. A huge thank you to all the children who joined us β you were all absolutely brilliant! π
The energy in the room was amazing, with children not only enjoying a wide range of songs but also learning about their meaning and importance within African culture. The atmosphere was full of joy, confidence and celebration, with everyone encouraged to take part and express themselves.
We also loved hearing this reflection from Emily:
βWe really enjoyed yesterday. We got to sing all sorts of different songs and learnt about what the songs actually mean to African culture. The people were very full of life and so was the crowd. You didnβt have to feel embarrassed to have a good time. Me and my friend even got a special shout out for our effort and interest in the event. It was genuinely a great experience and I would 100% go again.β
π What a fantastic experience for everyone involved!

A fantastic effort from our Under 15 Girls in the County Cup Quarter Final β½πͺ
The team faced Meole Brace in an incredibly exciting and hard fought match, captained by Sophie Hancock. After a competitive 60 minutes, the game finished 3β3, with goals from Erin, Millie and Lucy.
The match was decided on penalties, where the girls narrowly missed out 4β3. A special mention goes to Hayley for an outstanding penalty save that kept the team in contention right to the very end.
The girls should be extremely proud of their teamwork, resilience and determination throughout a brilliant match π

Our Wave System is all about understanding, trust and the right support at the right time ππ
This short animation explains how we notice, respond and support children when they need a little extra help, whether that is emotionally, socially or with learning.
Every child moves through waves differently, and our approach helps staff work together to make sure no one is missed and every child feels safe, supported and ready to learn.
Watch the video to see how the Wave System works and how we support children and families every step of the way.
