Role of the Local Governing Body

The Local Governing Body (LGB) supports and challenges school leaders to help ensure the highest standards of education, safeguarding and wellbeing for all pupils.

Parent Governors

Each Local Governing Body includes two Parent Governors.

Elections are held when vacancies arise due to the end of a term of office, resignation or when a school joins the Trust.

Where nominations exceed available vacancies, a ballot will be held.

Parent Governor Ballot Process

Staff Governor

Each Local Governing Body includes one Staff Governor.

Staff Governors are elected by staff and contribute as full governors. While they bring a staff perspective, they do not act as staff representatives.
