Supporting students wider growth

Sixth-form students play an integral role in the school. They are actively involved in the life of the school and are strong role models. Many act, for instance, as mentors for younger pupils or support those who struggle with reading. Ofsted 2023.

All our students have the opportunity to complete an extended work placement in local industry and businesses to support their aspirations.

Mentoring & Enrichment

We have a team of highly experienced tutors to ensure that students have consistent, daily contact. Tutors deliver a bespoke PSHE program which is complemented by ongoing careers opportunities and guidance, including regular speakers from our alumni, from local, national and global enterprises and from higher education.

Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are very well supported. Ofsted 2023.

This program is complimented with visits, work experience and individual support to guide you fully, through either the university application process or into an apprenticeship.

There is a rich programme of opportunities for personal growth and enrichment with a wealth of trips, such as our sixth form visit to Auschwitz or New York. Students are able to pursue the Duke of Edinburgh Gold qualification, participate in Model United Nations debates, organise fundraising events and develop their leadership and presentation skills.
