Today, the sounds of celebration echoed through the corridors of The Marches School as students marked an unforgettable results day.
Despite national challenges in school funding especially in rural counties like Shropshire, the achievements of our students are a testament to dedication, expert teaching, and community support.
We’re particularly proud of the incredible outcomes for our learners who speak English as an additional language many of whom have exceeded national averages in key subjects.
From A Levels and apprenticeships to starting careers, students are moving on to exciting next steps. We’re delighted that many are choosing to continue their journey within our Sixth Form, especially as we launch Open6 this September, a bold new hybrid learning initiative that allows students to study a wide range of subjects online or in person.
Sally Wilmot, Headteacher, said: “Today, we don’t just celebrate grades, we celebrate futures. Every student here has a story of success, and these results reflect what’s possible when young people are supported, challenged and believed in. Whether they’re heading to college, an apprenticeship, or staying with us at Sixth Form, each of them leaves with confidence and purpose. With the launch of Open6 this September, we’re proud to be opening even more doors for learners across our community.”
