The Marches School has a proven ability to support students to achieve their personal best. In the Sixth Form we provide a post-16 facility where you can access an exceptionally high standard of education, strong pastoral networks, and a full range of enrichment activities, in an independent and supportive learning environment. The Sixth Form Centre provides independence and autonomy away from the lower school and students have full access to top-class ICT facilities.
Academic work is supported by a strong tutorial system. A specialist team of tutors work closely with subject teachers to ensure that each student reaches their full potential and all members of the Sixth Form staff are well versed in supporting students with the transition from Year 11 to Year 12 and further progression into Year 13 and beyond.
We passionately believe that post-16 study is not just about succeeding in exams; it is about establishing yourself as an independent learner, with a range of transferable skills which will underpin and facilitate future endeavours.
Students who leave The Marches do so equipped with the skills they require to prosper in the 21st Century. We are always delighted to hear from past students and learn of their successes post The Marches. Many students have gone on to study at some of the country’s leading Universities including Oxford, Cambridge, Warwick, Durham, Birmingham, Nottingham, Manchester, University College London and Imperial College London. Here at The Marches, we pride ourselves on building strong, dynamic learning foundations that students continue to build on, whichever path they choose next.
“The Sixth Form is well-led. The study programme provides students with good opportunities and good support to gain relevant academic qualifications, to develop their work-related learning skills and to receive high quality information, advice and guidance about their future options. Careful monitoring of students’ progress and attendance ensures they are on track to succeed”. OFSTED
