We believe that knowing our students well is key to their success. At The Marches Sixth Form every student will benefit from strong academic and pastoral systems and be fully supported throughout their Key Stage 5 studies.
From taster days in Year 11 and the start of Year 12, to the ongoing, rigorous monitoring of academic progress and guidance throughout the two years, our students are given the best possible personalised support to maximise their chances of success.
We aim to equip our students with academic knowledge alongside the skills and confidence to succeed here and beyond. We pride ourselves on our success in ensuring that our students reach the best possible destinations and are equipped for the next stage in their lives.
All students access our one site fully qualified careers adviser as well as a dedicated Wellbeing Leader and access to counselling for those in need. Our tutor system ensures you are well known, you will not slip through the cracks, we step in quickly. Our care is second to none.

We have a team of highly experienced tutors to ensure that students have consistent, daily contact.
We endeavour to ensure that students and parents have access to independent advice and guidance (IAG), whenever required, to assist with making important academic or career decisions, as well as offering emotional or medical advice if needed.

Tutors deliver a bespoke PSHE program which is complemented by ongoing careers opportunities and guidance, including regular speakers from our alumni, from local, national and global enterprises and from higher education.
Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are very well supported. Ofsted 2023.
This program is complimented with visits, work experience and individual support to guide you fully, through either the university application process or into an apprenticeship.
There is a rich programme of opportunities for personal growth and enrichment with a wealth of trips, such as our sixth form visit to Auschwitz or New York. Students are able to pursue the Duke of Edinburgh Gold qualification, participate in Model United Nations debates, organise fundraising events and develop their leadership and presentation skills.

Focussing on your favourite subjects is a breath of fresh air for many students. We offer a brilliant selection of subjects at both A Level and BTEC so you’re sure to find your ideal combination.
You can try out subjects that interest you at our ‘ taster days which run throughout the year. Meet our staff and current students and immerse yourself in Sixth Form life.
For our highest achieving students and those aspiring to Oxbridge we have a scholars’ programme.
