Welcome from Mrs Sian Newey – Head of Year 7

I’m Mrs Newey, and I’m proud to lead Year 7 here at The Marches. I’ve been a teacher for over 15 years—four of those in Liverpool before returning to The Marches, the school I attended as a student myself. It’s a real privilege to now work in the place where my own education began.

I hold a degree in Physical Education, Sport and Dance, as well as a Master’s in Education. My passion lies in pastoral care and supporting young people to thrive, both in and beyond the classroom. I believe every student should feel safe, happy, and supported to achieve their very best.

Outside of school, I love reading, dancing, and watching women’s football—as well as most other sports! I’m always encouraging students to get involved, try new things, and make the most of every opportunity.

I look forward to working with you and your child as they start their exciting journey here at The Marches.
